GUIDE
How to share a web page to Instagram Stories
When you want to introduce a web page to someone, a URL alone may not show what the page is about or why it caught your attention. In Instagram Stories, a normal web URL does not automatically become a clean visual card for the page.
Share Router helps you create an image card from a web page's sharing metadata and add your own short note. It works in the browser, so you do not need to install an app.
How to create a share card with Share Router
- Copy the URL of the web page you want to introduce.
- Paste the URL on the Share Router home page.
- Check the generated card, then adjust your note, size, or theme if needed.
- Use "Share image" or "Save image", then choose the card image in the Instagram Stories creation screen.
Adding a link to the original page
The image card created by Share Router is not a clickable link. If you want to send people to the original page, copy the source URL in Share Router and add it in Instagram with a link sticker or another link feature available in your account.
Instagram features and terms can change. Check the options shown in the actual posting screen and Instagram's own guidance before posting.
Using images and text responsibly
Images and text that are publicly available on the web are not automatically free to reuse. Check the original site's terms and the rights for the page, image, or other content you plan to use.
Share Router is a tool for creating share cards. It does not decide whether content can legally be used, and it does not grant permission to use third-party content. Use web pages and images only when you have the right to use them.
You can share beyond Instagram
Cards can also be used with your device's share sheet, X, LINE, WhatsApp, Telegram, or PNG download. Available destinations depend on your device and browser.
Frequently asked questions
Is Share Router free to use?
Yes. Share Router is free to use, and you do not need to create an account.
Does Share Router automatically post to Instagram Stories?
No. Share Router creates the card image and passes it to Instagram through sharing features. You review and publish the Story yourself inside Instagram.
Will tapping the image card open the original web page?
No. The generated image card itself is not a clickable link. To add a link in Instagram Stories, copy the source URL and use a link sticker.
Can Share Router create a card from any web page?
Not always. Some pages may not provide sharing metadata, may block access, may use unsupported image formats, or may not expose an image that Share Router can fetch.
Can I freely use images from someone else's web page?
No. Successfully fetching an image does not mean you have permission to reuse it or post it on social media. Check the content rights and the original site's terms.
